PM consoles family members of Architect Rabiul Husain

DHAKA, Nov 26, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today visited the Dhanmondi residence of renowned poet and architect Rabiul Husain, who passed away this morning, to console the bereaved family members.

The prime minister went to the residence of Ekushey Padak-recipient poet and architect in the afternoon and stayed there for some time.

She talked to the bereaved family members, consoled them and also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Earlier in a condolence message, Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rabiul Husain.

She said the country and nation have lost a patriotic man with multifaceted virtues in his death.

“Rabiul Husain was simultaneously an architect, poet, art-critic, short story writer, essayist and cultural activist,” she said.

The premier said though Rabiul Husain was an architect by profession, he was involved with different local and international institutions.

“Rabiul Husain, who used to preserve the memory of the great war of liberation, will be remembered forever through his own works,” she said.

Rabiul Husain breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital in the capital this morning. He was 76.
