Ekushey Padak-winning Poet Rabiul Husain passes away

DHAKA, Nov 26, 2019 (BSS) – Renowned poet and architect Rabiul Husain died
today morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city.

He was 76.

He breathed his last at 8 am at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical
University (BSMMU) Hospital in the capital, family sources said.

He left behind his only son, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn
his death.

Shaheed Minar at Jahangirnagar University campus is one of his renowned
architectural designs.

He received the prestigious Ekushey Padak award for language and
literature in 2018.

Rabiul was born on January 31, 1943 at Rotidanga village in Shailkupa in
Jhenidah.

He completed his graduation in architecture at the East Pakistan
University of Engineering Technology (now BUET).
