BGB detains 32 men while entering Bangladesh from India

BENAPOLE, Jashore, Nov 24, 2019 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members today picked up 32 people while they were illegally entering Bangladesh from India through Daulatpur and Gatipara borders of Benapole.

On secret information that a large number of people are staying in Daulatpur and Gatipara border areas after entering Bangladesh from India without passports and visas, a patrol team of BGB conducted a drive and held them from the areas in the early hours of today, Commanding Officer of BGB-21 Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Manjur-E-Elahi told BSS.

Among the detainees, 17 were men, 11 women, two children and two transgender, he said.

All the detainees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station after filing a case against them, Manjur said.
