Qulkhwani of ex-joint secy Azizur Rahman tomorrow
DHAKA, June 3, 2018 (BSS) – The qulkhwani of M Azizur Rahman, a retired joint secretary to the government, will be held after Asr prayers tomorrow at his Uttara residence — house no 45, road no 3, sector no 3– here.
Rahman breathed his last on Thursday at Uttara Labana General Hospital after four days of fight against cancer, which recurred after it made an abortive assault on him eight years ago.
He was buried at Azimpur’s old graveyard after two rounds of namaz-e-janaza joined by huge crowds at Uttara and Azimpur.
He left behind his wife, two sons, including Chief News Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) M Anisur Rahman, a daughter, four grand children and a host of relatives, friends and admirers in different social circles.
As an officer of the BCS (administration) cadre, he served in different capacities at different government organisations including Bangladesh Railway, Bangladesh Betar and the BSCIC apart from performing as SDO in erstwhile subdivisions and deputy commissioner (DC) in greater Rajshahi.
The family requested friends, admirers and well wishers to join the qulkhwani to seek eternal blessings for the departed soul.
