DHAKA, June 3, 2018 (BSS) – The government has developed 358 ACMP
graduates (Advanced Certificate for Management Professional) so far through
providing world-class training to mid-level managers of IT companies.
A senior official of ICT Division said the training of 142 mid-level
managers of IT companies will end by December this year.
The World Bank financed Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and
Governance (LICT) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under ICT
Division has been providing international standard training to mid-level
managers of IT companies through the UK based Ernst and Young (EY) and
Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University to create 500
ACMP graduates for the ICT sector.
The experienced trainers from the Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and IBA of DU are
providing 200-hour training following the courses verified by the George
Washington University of the USA.
LICT Project Director Md. Rezaul Karim said 358 ACMP graduates received
certificate from Posts, Telecommunications and IT minister Mustafa Jabbar on
May 31 at a ceremony held at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate building auditorium.
The training of the rest 142 mid-level managers of IT companies will be
completed by December this year, he said.
Karim said keeping challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and
flourishing IT sector in mind, the government launched the `ACMP 4.O’ course
at IBA of Dhaka University on October 5, 2017 to develop ACMP graduates for
the IT sector.
Ernst and Young (EY) Business Advisory Services Project Director Bidyut
Thakur said the trainees are getting training on project management, people
management, business and customer management, business communication, finance
and accounting, strategy management, business analytics, cyber security and
other areas of software engineering.
