GAIBANDHA, Nov 22, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 1300 small and marginal farmers
of Gobindaganj upazila in the district got high quality mustard seed and
chemical fertilizers under the government’s agri incentive programme.
A simple function organized by upazila agriculture office was held at the
hall room of Farmers’ Training Center of the upazila town on the occasion on
Thursday afternoon with upazila agriculture officer Krishibid Khaledur Rahman
in the chair.
Local lawmaker Engineer Monwar Hossain Chowdhury addressed the function as
the chief guest while Upazila Chairman Abdul Latif Prodhan, Upazila Nirbahi
Officer (UNO) Ramkrshna Barman and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj
Thana AKM Mehedi Hasan were present as special guests.
The lawmaker said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has
been working relentlessly for overall development of the farmers since 2009.
The government stood by the small and marginal farmers of the upazila with
crop seed and chemical fertilizer so that they could be benefitted, he added.
The lawmaker also urged the farmers to sow the seed on the suitable land
during the current Robi season and nurture the crop field properly to get
desired output.
Later, 1300 farmers were provided with high quality mustard seed and
chemical fertilizers.
Each of the farmers received one-kg of mustard seed, 20-kg of Di-ammonium
Phosphate (DAP) and 10-kg of Muriate of Potash (MoP) free of cost.
Upazila level officials, public representatives and local journalists were
present on the occasion.
