ACC for ensure transparency over selling of railway ticket

DHAKA, June 3, 2018 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today made
a surprise visit to Kamlapur Railway Station in the capital and directed the
railway authorities to ensue transparency in selling railway ticket.

“We are constantly monitoring the overall ticket management ahead of the
Eid to ensure transparency in selling tickets. If any irregularity is found
to this end the commission will stand by complainants,” said ACC’s Director
General (admin) and Coordinator of the drive Munir Chowdhury.

“ACC has received a number of allegations over irregularities in selling of
railway ticket and an ACC team headed by deputy director Md Mahmud Hasan has
been sent to Kamlapur Ralway Station around 11am today to look into the
matter,” deputy director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee told
BSS today.

The team inquired people about the allegations and took around inside the
counters of ticket selling along with station manager Sitangshu Chakroborti
and asked them to take appropriate measures to ensure transparency in selling
railway ticket, he also said.

It also asked the on-duty Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and railway security
personnel at Kamlapur Railway Station to take action in checking black
marketing of railway ticket and other irregularities to this end, he added.
