TANGAIL, Aug 1, 2017 (BSS) – A woman and her minor son were electrocuted at Agterilla village under Bhuapur upazila of the district this noon.
The deceased were Shirin Akhter, 35, wife of Fajlur Haque and her five- year old son Salim, residents of the same area.
Police said minor boy Salim met the tragic accident when a live electric- wire fell into a pond in which he was taking bath near his house at the village this noon.
His mother Shirin came forward to help him but both of them injured critically.
The neighbors rescued them and sent to Bhuapur Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
Besides, three others were injured while they were trying to rescue Shirin and Salim.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhuapur Thana AKM Kauser Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
