DHAKA, Nov 20, 2019 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid will attend the 4th
Convocation of Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on
December 5.
“The President, also the Chancellor of the university, will preside over
the convocation ceremony scheduled to be held on Dec 5 at 3 pm on CUET campus
in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram,” President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin
told BSS today.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni and Deputy Minister for Education
Barrister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury will attend the programme as special
guests. Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof Kazi
Shahidullah will also attend the ceremony.
Former UGC Chairman Prof Dr AK Azad Chowdhury will deliver his speech as
the Convocation Speaker, he said.
Our University Correspondent reports: A total of 2500 students will
receive degrees from five different faculties and disciplines, CUET Vice
Chancellor Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam told BSS today.
Four students from undergraduate programmes will receive gold medals and
crests for their outstanding contribution to extracurricular activities.
Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud will attend the concluding function
of the convocation as the chief guest on Dec 6, the VC added.
