Ctg AL takes elaborate programmes marking National Mourning Day

CHITTAGONG, Aug 1, 2017 (BSS)-Chittagong unit of Awami League (AL) has taken elaborate programmes to mark the National Mourning Day in a befitting manner.

The programmes were finalised today at three separate meetings held at the respective party offices of Chittagong north, south and city units of AL.

According to the programme schedule, separate discussions will be held on life and work of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in different areas of the city and district.

Floral wreaths will be placed at portrait of Bangabandhu at 6 am and processions from central Shaheed Minar premises will be brought at 9 am on August 15.

The national flag and party flag will be kept at half mast while black flags will be hoisted at respective party offices.

Chittagong north and south district AL and its associate bodies will place wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Daruf Fazal market in the morning.

As part of the programme, leaders, workers and supporters of AL and its other associate bodies will pay homage to other martyrs of 1975, offer Fateha and munajat there on August 15.

Special prayers will be offered at all mosques in the city and district seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his departed family members.

Besides, special prayers will also be offered at all temples and places of worships of other religions in greater Chittagong.

On the occasion, AL will distribute special foods among the poor, destitute and orphanages.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chittagong University and Chittagong Medical College units will also chalk out elaborate programmes to mark the day.
