RAKUB launches new branch at Polashbari in Nilphamari
RANGPUR, Nov 18, 2019 (BSS) – Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has
launched its 383th Branch at Polashbari Bazaar in Sadar upazila of Nilphamari
aiming at turning every village into a town through enhancing economic
activities in rural areas.
Member of Parliament (MP) from Nilphamari-2 (Sadar) constituency
Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the new Polashbari Branch of RAKUB at a function
arranged on its premises by cutting ribbon on Sunday afternoon as the chief
guest.
With Deputy Managing Director of RAKUB Mohammad Idris in the chair, it’s
Chairman Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Managing Director AKM Sajedur Rahman Khan and
Rangpur Divisional General Manager Badiuzzaman Prodhan attended the event as
special guests.
The chief guest said RAKUB has been playing a special role in increasing
agricultural production in the northern districts of Bangladesh contributing
a lot to achieving self-sufficiency in food.
“In the light of announcement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to turn every
village into a town, establishment of the new RAKUB Branch will further
develop agriculture sector and enhance agro-based industrialisation to create
huge jobs in the area,” he said.
He called upon the local people for depositing their money in the new RAKUB
Branch to strengthen its financial base and extending their full cooperation
for smooth management of its banking activities.
The RAKUB Chairman said, “We will further increase the number of branches of
the bank in the rural areas of all 16 northern districts to contribute our
own to turning every village into a town as announced by Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina.”
He also directed the field-level officials of RAKUB to work with utmost
sincerity, transparency and accountability to ensure best banking services
for enhancing economic activities in rural areas of the northern region.
