India survives early scare to reach 188-3 against Bangladesh at lunch

INDORE, Nov 15, 2019 (BSS)-Bangladesh pacer Abu Jayed Rahi scared India for
a while but the hosts survived the early trouble to reach a comfortable 188-
3, taking a first innings lead of 38 runs at lunch on the second day of the
first Test at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Friday.

At the first interval of the day, Mayank Agarwal was batting on 91, with
Ajinkya Rahane on 35.

Rahi swung the ball nicely in the first hour of the day to dismiss
overnight unbeaten batsman Cheteshwar Puajara for 52, putting an end to the
91-run partnership between him and Mayank Agarwal.

In just his next over, he again swung one to dismiss Indian captain Virat
Kohli for 0 via leg-before. Kohli’s reviewed in vain to spark a wild
jubilation in Bangladesh tent.

With India at 119-3, Bangladesh sensed a chance to claw back into the game.
But Agarwal and Rahane shattered the hopes by systematically tormenting the
bowlers.

Before the lunch, they put on an unbeaten 69-run for the fourth wicket
stand and gave India the lead.

Apart from Rahi who scalped 3-58, no Bangladeshi bowlers could make much
impact on the Indian batsmen.
