Three smugglers held with 4kg gold at Benapole

BENAPOLE, Nov 13, 2019 (BSS) – Members of Border Guards Bangladesh
arrested three persons, including a woman, in procession of gold weighing
four kilograms from Ghiba, Doulatpur and Amrakhali frontier areas in Benapole
early today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB searched a human haulier locally

known as Mahindra in Amrakhali check post area and seized 785 grams of
gold worth about Taka 42 lakh.

Members of the border guard force also arrested Robiul Islam Jamir, a
resident of Loan Office para village, during the drive.

Dilip Bishwas, a resident of Dhannokhola village of Benapole area, was
detained by the BGB personnel with 1.998 kilograms of gold worth about Taka
1.7 crore in Ghiba frontier area around 11:30am.

A woman named Monira Khatun, a resident of Boroachra village, was held
with six gold bars from Doulatpur border area.

Separate cases were filed with Benapole Port Police station.
