Niaz still maintains solo lead

DHAKA, Nov 7, 2019 (BSS) – GM Niaz Murshed of Bangladesh Ansar is still maintained his solo lead in the points table with five points after the end of sixth round matches of SAIF POWERTEC 45th National Chess Championship now being held at SREDA Auditorium at Institute of Engineers of Bangladesh Building at Ramna in the city.

GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib of SAIF Sporting Club and FM Taibur Rahman are jointly shared the second position with 4.5 points.

Five players are sharing the third position with four points. They are GM Ziaur Rahman and IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Golden Sporting Club and CM Manon Reja Neer of Chattogram.

GM Reefat Bin Sattar of Bangladesh Ansar, IM Abu Sufian Shakil and FM Khandaker Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy earned 3.5 points each.

In the day’s sixth round matches held on today GM Niaz split point with GM Zia, GM Rakib beat GM Reefat, IM Minhaz drew with IM Fahad, FM Taaibur beat IM Shakil, CM Manon defeated Debaraj Chatterjee of Barisal, FM Parag beat FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, FM Mohammad Javed split point with GM Enamul Hossain Razib of SAIF Sporting Club, FM Amin beat CM Saiful Islam Chowdhury of Sylhet,

CM Nayem Haque of Mir Chess Club split point with FM Mohammed Abdul Malek of Chattogram, CM Sharif Hossain of Bangladesh Navy beat FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman of Janata Bank Officers Welfare Society, Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Golden Sporting Club beat Anata Choudhury of Sheikh Russel Chess Club, Delwar Hossain of Khulna beat CM S M Sharon of Bangladesh Navy,

Emdadul Haque of Satkhira beat Sariatullah of Bangladesh Police, CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club beat WIM Rani Hamid of Bangladesh Ansar and CM Md Jamal Uddin of Bangladesh Police beat CM Monir Hossain of Narayanganj. The seventh round games start tomorrow (Friday) at 3 pm at same venue.
