Former joint secretary Azizur Rahman passes away

DHAKA, May 31, 2018 (BSS) – Md Azizur Rahman, a former joint secretary of
the government and father of Chief News Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha
(BSS) Anisur Rahman, died of a cardiac arrest at 12.55 pm today at a private
hospital in the city’s Uttara area.

He was 84.

Family sources said he is survived by wife, two sons and one daughter
and a host of relatives and admirers.

Before retiring from the public service in 1993, Azizur Rahman served
the government in different capacities.

The namaz-e-janza of Azizur Rahman will be held at Badshartek Jame
Masjid at Sector-3 in Uttara after Asr prayers.

Later, he will be buried at Azimpur Old Graveyard in the city.

Press Secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Managing
Director and Chief Editor of BSS Ihsanul Karim expressed deep shock at the
death of Azizur Rahman.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul
and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Besides, BSS Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad, in a
separate condolence message, expressed shock at his death.
