Gokulam Kerala, Terengganu FC tie end goalless draw
DHAKA, Oct 24, 2019 (BSS) – Gokulam Kerala FC of India shared point with Terengganu FC of Malaysia when their match ended in a tame goalless draw in the group B second match of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football Tournament held on Thursday at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram.
With the day’s outcome, Terengganu FC improved their tally with four points from two matches while Gokulam Kerala FC also have four points playing the same number of outings.
In the group B table, both the teams one win away from the last four spot. If Terengganu FC and Gukulam Kerala able to win their last matches, then they will qualify for the semifinal.
Bashundhara Kings remained at third position of group B with three points and they also kept their semifinal hope alive following their day’s victory over Chennai City FC which made their exit from the championship race after losing both their group matches.
In the day’s match, both the teams got several scoring chances during the proceeding but failed to convert any of those into a goal.
Gokulam Kerala will play against Chennai City FC while Terengganu FC meet Bashundhara Kings in their respective third and last group matches scheduled to be held on Saturday (October 26) at the same venue.
Earlier, Gokulam Kerala beat Bashundhara Kings by 3-1 goals while Terengganu FC defeated Chennai City FC 5-3 in both their respective group opening matches.
Friday’s matches: Young Elephants FC vs TC Sports Club at (4 pm) and Chattogram Abahani vs Mohun Bagan at 7 pm, at the same venue.
