DHAKA, Oct 24, 2019 (BSS)-The cricketers shifted their focus to the upcoming bilateral series against India and the National Cricket League (NCL) after their strike was lifted following Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) decision to fulfill all of the demands in quickest possible time.
The professional cricketers of the country called strike, stating that they won’t participate in any kind of cricket related activities until their 11-point demand is met.
Later, they added two more new demands, including a larger share of revenue from BCB’s income. The board however assured them most of the demands have been met already while some other is in process to be met.
Even though the BCB didn’t discuss about players latest two demands, the cricketers leader in this strike Shakib Al Hasan said they are happy with the outcome.
As they have reached an amicable solution, the practice camp for the India series starts tomorrow (Friday) as it was scheduled. But the NCL was pushed back for two days to begin on Saturday.
“There is nothing like instability. We are players and our duty is to play cricket,” Pacer Al-Amin Hossain, who was called up in the national team for three-match T20 series against India after three years said here on Thursday.
“We will try to shift our full focus on cricket now. We have just come up here after playing four-day games but since our India series will start with T20 series, we have to be mentally prepared to switch the format.”
Al-Amin said he is waiting for the coach’s advise to devise a plan for his own for the T20 series against India.
“The camp will start from tomorrow. The coaches certainly will reveal some plan and a player always devises his plan according to what the team wants from him. So when the camp starts, definitely I will be informed about the strategic plan and I will work accordingly,” he added.
But at the same Al-Amin just wants to focus on T20 cricket, not the Test series which will be followed by the shorter format cricket series.
“I have been just called up for the T20 cricket and I don’t want to think about Test cricket right at the moment. If the chance to play Test cricket comes, then I will think about it.”
Meanwhile, Al-Amin said doing well against India is every player’s dream considering that playing well there in India’s soil is the biggest challenge for any overseas cricketer.
“You can say, its’ (playing against India) ultimately a big challenge. Because they are best team in the world. So playing well there is the biggest challenge. I have got a chance and definitely I will try to utilise it to full effect,” he added.
