22 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, May 31, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 22
persons including 10 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 112 bottles of Phensidyl, 122 pieces of
Pethidine injections and 215 liters of locally-made liquor during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested eight persons including
five drug traders with 215 liters of locally-made liquor, Biral Thana police
arrested two persons, Hakimpur Thana police arrested two persons, Kaharole
Thana police arrested two persons, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested two
activists of Jamaat-E-Islami from Ranir Bandar area in the town around 6am,
Birampur Thana police arrested two drug traders with 122 pieces of Pethidine
injections and 1.5-kg of Ganja and Ghoraghat Thana police arrested one
person,
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
three drug traders with 112 bottles of Phensidyl around 11pm from Hili
Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
