Winning start for Chattogram Abahani
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 19, 2019 (BSS) – Hosts Chattogram Abahani got off to flying start in the 3rd edition of Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup with a convincing 4-1 goal victory over defending champions TC Sports Club of the Maldives in the group A opening encounter held today at MA Aziz Stadium in the city.
In the day’s match, Matthew Chinedu scored braces in the 8th and 40th minutes while Yasin Arafat and Luka Rotkovic netted one goal, each, for the hosts in the 11th and 70th minutes respectively.
Ismail Easa reduced the margin of defeat for TC Sports Club.
Chattogram Abahani dominated the proceeding from the very start and notched a very deserving victory while TC Sports Club was totally off-color.
Chattogram Abahani will play their next match against Young Elephant of Laos on October 22 while TC Sports Club will lock horns against Young Elephant of Laos on October 24.
Earlier, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the tournament as chief guest.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, Chattogram Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, among others, were also present.
