CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 18, 2019 (BSS) – The 94th birth anniversary of Ila
Mitra, who led the peasant uprising known as Tebhaga Andolon in Indian sub-
continent, was observed here yesterday.
Ila Mitra Pathagar and Rani Ila Mitra Sangsad jointly arranged a discussion
at Nejampur rail station Bazar in the upazila this morning.
President of Ila Mitra Pathagar Bidhan Sing presided over the meeting
attended by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabiha Sultana as the chief guest.
Principal of Nachole Women College Obaidur Rahman, president of Nachole
Press Club Waliul Hoque Dollar and Officer-in-Charge of Nachole police
station Selim Reza spoke in the meeting as special guests.
The speakers highlighted the life and works of Ila Mitra and also stressed
the need for preserving the memories of the great leader.
