One sent to jail in Abrar killing case

DHAKA, Oct 18, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent Mazedur Rahman
Mazed, an accused in BUET student Abrar Fahad killing case, to jail as police
produced him after end of his five-day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder passed the order as
investigation officer and detective branch inspector Md Wahiduzzaman produced
the accused BUET student Mazedur Rahman Mazed before court and pleaded to
keep him behind bars.

Mazed was placed on five-day remand on October 12. He was arrested from
Uttara Sector-14 area earlier on that day.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) students and
the varsity authorities found seemingly lifeless body of Abrar, 22, in
critical condition from first-floor stairs of Sher-e-Bangla Hall and rushed
him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead
at around 6.30 am on October 7.

Abrar’s father filed the case with Chawkbazar Police Station against 19
people.
