BNP’s born to erase spirit of Liberation War: Nasim
SIRAJGANJ, Oct 14, 2019 (BSS) – BNP was founded with an ulterior motive of erasing the fundamental spirit of the Liberation War, as the military rule, steered by Ziaur Rahman, not only symbolized killing of people, but also distorted history and thoughts of a secular nation.
This was said by Awami League (AL) presidium member and central 14-party alliance spokesman Mohammed Nasim at a discussion here today.
The discussion was arranged on the occasion of inauguration of Sirajganj sadar upazila 10-bed mother and children welfare centre.
Speaking as the chief guest, Nasim said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had driven the country’s politics towards a modern and secular trend.
“Bangabandhu gave Bangalees an independent Bangladesh, while his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given us a developing country,” he said.
The 14-party alliance spokesman said after facing defeat in the general elections and losing popularity, BNP leaders are now deliberately lying, depending on Jamaat.
Issuing false statements over the Buet student Abrar murder and the Bangladesh’s recent agreements with India, Nasim said, BNP is trying to create anarchy in the country.
Chaired by Shahidul Alam, the discussion was addressed, among others, by family planning director of Rajshahi Division Shafiqul Islam, Engr Tariqul Islam, superintendent engineer Abdul Hamid and executive engineer Zakir Hossain.
