‘Made in Bangladesh’ expo in Qatar Dec 10

DHAKA, Oct 14, 2019 (BSS) – A three-day long exhibition, titled ‘Made in Bangladesh’ will begin from December 10 this year at the “Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC)” in Qatar.

The information was reveled at a business session at the Sonargaon Hotel in the city, said a press release.

Bangladesh Forum Qatar (BFQ) organised the session for increasing the bilateral trade among the two friendly nations.

EPB Director Md Jahangir Hossain, BFQ Founding President Iftekhar Ahmed and BFQ Vice President Yusuf Saeed, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Iftekhar Ahmed said the Bangladesh Embassy in Doha is actively working with BFQ in organising the exhibition in Qatar.

He said that the event would go a long way in rebranding Bangladesh as an economic powerhouse and breaking the stereotype of being a supplier of low-cost human resources.

Yousuf Saeed said the exhibition will enable Bangladeshi companies to showcase their products and services. “On the sideline of the exhibition, there will be seminars and panel discussions to showcase toll manufacturing opportunities, business process and outsourcing opportunities,” he added.

He mentioned that there will be footfall of at least 4,000 visitors on a daily basis and the exhibitors will have over 1,000 Business-to-Business meetings.

Earlier, EPB Deputy Director Abu Mukhles Alamgir Hossain said the Embassy of Bangladesh in Doha and BFQ under the patronage of EPB will organise the event.

During the three-day exhibition, he said, there will be sector-wise presentations and seminars and Business-to-Business meeting.

“A minister-level delegation from Bangladesh will attend the event. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi is likely to lead the delegation,” he added.
