14th World Congress on ICU begins in Australia on Monday

DHAKA, Oct 12, 2019(BSS)- The five-day long 14th World Congress on
Intensive Care will begin in Australia’s Melbourne city on October 14, a
press release of Bangladesh Society of Critical Care Medicine (BSCCM) said
here today.

President and Secretary General of BSCCM Prof Md Omar Faruq and Dr Uzzwal
Kumar Mallick left here for Australia yesterday to attend the congress.

Dr Uzzwal Kumar Mallick will give a presentation on ‘Comparison of ICU
outcome of mechanically ventilated GBS (Guillian Barre Syndrome) patients
with IVIG (Intravenous Immunoglobulin) and Plasma exchange’ in the congress
on behalf of the Bangladesh delegation.

Some 2,000 ICU experts from 84 countries across the world will join the
conference where they will explore possible developments of the critical care
medicine and the ways to serve the ICU patients better in future.

Some 30 sessions will be held at the congress which includes analysis of
study reports from different countries, sharing of ideas and exchange of
views for the development of critical care medicine, the release added.

The World Federation of the Society of Intensive Care organized the five-
day congress with the help of the Asia Pacific Critical Care Society (APCCS)
and Australia-New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS).
