President for coming down hard on ‘teen-gang culture’

KISHOREGANJ, Oct 9, 2019 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today directed the local administration and others concerned to go on tough to the teenage gang culture.

“Come down hard on the teen-gang culture . . . The guardians of the youths and local administration should be more aware of their drug abuse so that they could grow up properly,” he said.

The President, who is now on a weeklong visit to Kishoreganj district, said this while exchanging views with local lawyers, judges, government officials, freedom fighters, businessmen and some distinguished personalities of the district at Kishoreganj Circuit House here tonight.

Giving priority to the national interest at all levels of development, he said the role of public representatives and local officials is very significant to ensure sustainable development at marginal level.

“You have to work unitedly and give priority to the national development to meet the demands of local people,” the President said.

The head of the state also put emphasis on the environment for infrastructural advancement.

“You will have to create awareness to prevent environment pollution side by side with ensuring quality of infrastructural development works,” Abdul Hamid suggested.

He gave them a patient hearing and assured of providing all-out support to ensure development of the haor areas as well as the country.
