KUSHTIA, Oct 9, 2019 (BSS) – Barkat Ullah, father of slain student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), has expressed his satisfaction over the steps so far have been taken by the government to ensure fair trial on Abrar murder case.

“I [Abrar father]feel satisfaction on the initiatives so far have been taken by the government as the Prime Minister herself has a feeling on what a painful phase one has to undergo upon losing the dearest ones,” he said this to the journalists after participating a discussion and doa-mahfil commemorating Abrar Fahad at Kushtia Zila School here this morning.

The perpetrators who had been involved in Abrar murder case, would get maximum punishment in quicker time, if the Prime Minster see the video footage captured in the close-circuit camera, he said, adding, “I have a belief.”

Abrar’s classmates and the zila school authority organized the programme at 11.30am at zila school campus mosque here. Abrar was the ex-student of the school. All the students and well-wishers including head master of the school Iftekharul Islam, sadar upazila chairman Ataur Rahman Ata, teachers and employees, among others, attended the function.

Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of Electric and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of BUET, was brutally beaten to death allegedly by a group of Bangladesh Chaatra League (BCL) leaders at the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall sometime between 7:30pm Sunday and 2:30am Monday.
