DHAKA, July 27, 2017 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today declared legal the application of registered graduates with six-month IT training for the posts of assistant teacher in computer studies in private educational institutes.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Abu Taher Md. Saifur Rahman passed the order while declaring absolute a rule issued earlier in this regard.

“Graduates with six months IT training and registered with Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certificate Authority (NTRCA) can legally apply in the private educational institutes for the posts of assistant teacher in computer studies,” said advocate Siddik Ullah, who moved the concerned petition before the court.

The lawyer said the NTRCA on July 14, 2016, issued a circular for recruiting assistant teacher in computer studies, barring registered candidates with graduation certificate and 6-month IT training from applying for the post.

Eighteen candidates challenged the circular and filed a writ petition with the High Court. The court on August 8, 2016, issued a rule against the officials concerned.

Following the order, the NTRCA on August 10, 2016, again issued a circular saying graduates with 6-month IT training can now apply for assistant teacher post.

But it refrained from publishing the result of recruitment exam for assistant teacher in computer studies, since the rule issued earlier in this regard, was not disposed of. Today the High Court finally disposed of the rule by declaring it absolute.
