Sheikh Hasina doesn’t sign treaties at the cost of country’s interest: Quader

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s successful visit to India irritated BNP.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina doesn’t sign any agreements at the cost of country’s interest . . .,” he said.

BNP’s remark centering her (PM) recent India visit is a part of BNP’s bad politics,” he said, speaking at a workshop of AL Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee members at the Engineers’ Institution Bangladesh (IEB) here.

Rebutting BNP’s criticism over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s current visit to India, Quader said BNP leaders are delivering imbalanced speech because they have remained out of state-power for long.

The AL general secretary said during the visit a fruitful discussion on Teesta issue was held and the premier would be successful in this connection, too.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina does the politics for the country and its people . . . She never did anything at the cost of the country’s interest,” he added.

Criticizing the remark of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, for terming the agreements signed during the PM’s current visit to India as anti-constitution and anti-state, Quader blasted BNP leaders asking them not to throw brickbats in the dark and prove their charges, specifically.

Referring to the upcoming party central conference, the AL general secretary said party President Sheikh Hasina is well-informed about the overall activities and performance of AL leaders and workers.

“Awami League is now united under the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and she will take the right decision.” Quader mentioned.

He also urged all concerned to use the social media, including Face Book, very cautiously and shun the spread of any sorts of illusive remarks against anybody. About ICT progress in Bangladesh, the Bridges Minister said the software would bring a tremendous success under the leadership of PM’s ICT adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Sheikh Rehana’s son Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby by 2020.

AL advisory council member and chairman of the AL science and technology affairs subcommittee Prof Dr Hossain Mansur and Engineer Abdus Sabur also took part in the discussion.

Later, the AL general secretary visited Puja Mandop of Jagannath University hall in the capital and exchanged greetings there with the attending Hindu community people.
