65 rivers register fall, 21 rises

DHAKA, July 27, 2017 (BSS) – Water levels in 65 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked fall, 21 stations recorded rise while four recorded remain steady.

Among the 90 monitored water level stations, one is above danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, Padma and Surma-Kushiyara rivers are in falling trend. Apart from this, major rivers of South Eastern hilly region are also in falling trend while the Ganges river is in rising trend.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers may likely to continue falling in the next 72 hours.

The Ganges rivers may likely to continue rising in the next 24 hours while the Surma-Kushiyara rivers may likely to continue falling trend during this period.

The rainfall was recorded 104 mm in Sylhet, 82.5 mm at Bhagyakul, 72 mm in Dhaka and 48 mm at Kanaighat-Sylhet during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am today.
