DHAKA, Oct 2, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League Presidium Member and spokesperson of the 14-party alliance Mohammed Nasim today urged all to remain alert so that the evil forces cannot catch fish in the troubled water centering the ongoing drives against wrongdoers.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been successful in eliminating fundamentalism and militancy from the country. She will also succeed in conducting the ongoing drives against terrorism, corruption and drug traders. But we have to remain aware so that the evil forces cannot cash in on the drives,” he said.

The AL leader also said they (evil forces) want to make the Prime Minister’s drives against wrongdoers a failure.

Nasim was addressing a discussion as the chief guest marking the 21st founding anniversary of the Ganatantri Party at the Jatiya Press Club in the city.

Presided over by Ganatantri Party Presidium Member Mahmudur Rahman Babu, the discussion was addressed by, among others, AL Advisory Council Member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu and Organizing Secretary and State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, Bangladesh Jashad President Sharif Nurul Ambia, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Oikya NAP Presidium Member Advocate MA Sabur, Convener of Communist Kendro Dr Wazedul Islam, NAP (Muzaffar) acting General Secretary Ismail Hossain and Ganatantri Party General Secretary Dr Shahadat Hossain.

Urging the left leaning party leaders to be united, Nasim said the AL-led 14-party alliance has got a jolt due to the division among left-leaning political leaders.

“Due to our mistakes, some infiltrators got entry into AL as those elements were never seen during the party’s past movements for establishing democracy and eliminating terrorism and corruption,” he added.

Addressing the programme, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury urged the 14-party alliance leaders to take part in any future movement in a body to protect the democracy under any circumstance.

“Due to the united movements of the 14-party alliance, we have been successful in ending the terrorist and militant activities and misrule of BNP in the past,” he said.
