JS body discusses Bangladesh Sports Education Institute Bill-19
DHAKA, Oct 02, 2019 (BSS) -The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth
and Sports Ministry today discussed the Bangladesh Sports Education Institute
Bill-2019 in detail.
The discussion held at the 4th meeting of the committee at the Jatiya
Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its Chairman Abdullah Al Islam Jakob in the chair,
an official release said.
State minister for youth and sports Zahid Hasan Russell and other committee
members including Nazmul Hassan, Abdus Salam Murshedi, Jewel Areng, A M
Naimur Rahman and Zakia Tabassum were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the members also recommended forming a three-member
sub-committee by making A M Naimur Rahman as the convener of the committee
for further changes and modifications of the bill.
The watchdog committee also recommended preparing pragmatic plan and
sending it to the planning ministry within the next three months to set up
training and recreation centres in each upazila according to the election
manifesto of the present government.
The progress of the decisions taken during the last 3rd meeting,
implementation of the commitments made by the Prime Minister on priority
basis and the overall activities of the National Sports Council were also
discussed in the meeting. During the meeting, they decided to visit the
activities of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) on October 17 .
For the celebration of Mujib Year in 2020, the committee decided that all
the sports will be named after Bangabandhu.
Youth and sports secretary and other officials concerned of the ministry
and parliament secretariat were also present.
