CUMILLA, Oct 02, 2019 (BSS) – A workshop on ‘Meet the Writer Program and Creative Writing’ was held at Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology (BAIUST) to awaken the creativity of students.
Department of English of the university arranged the workshop at its auditorium on Monday for enhancing the knowledge of student on creative writing, said a press release today.
Kaiser Haq, an internationally eminent poet, essayist and translator, was the guest author of the program.
Vice-Chancellor of the university Brigadier General (Retd) Professor KM Salzar Hossain, Treasurer Col (Retd) Professor Md Mosharrof Hossain and Registrar Col Suman Kumar Barua were present in the program.
Under the title “My Journey as a Bangladeshi English Poet”, Haq dwelled on how he came to write in English which purports to the inclusion of a literary piece in world literature.
He also talked on the history of English writing in the subcontinent and how his choice of English as the medium of creative writing tags along.
