Govt working to build non-communal Bangladesh: Rezaul

DHAKA, Oct 1, 2019 (BSS) – Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said that the government is working relentlessly to establish Bangladesh as a completely non-communal country.

“The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes that the state belongs to everyone, no matter what his religion is…Bangladesh is gradually becoming an example of inter communal coherence in the world”, he said.

He stated this while donating money to the Durga Puja programmes in his constituency in Nazirpur Upazila of Pirojpur district.

About the development projects taken by the government for the Dhakeshwari Temple, the minister said that the temples in Pirojpur will also be renovated eventually.

He urged the people of the country to boycott them who have connection with crimes like murder, terrorism, drug peddling or rape.

Deputy Commissioner of Pirojpur Abu Ali Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, Police Super Md Hayatul Islam Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Pirojpur Rebeka Khan and Chairman of Nazirpur Upazila Parishad Amulya Ranjan Halder also spoke, among others, in the programme.
