DHAKA, July 27, 2017 (BSS)-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked the leaders and workers of Bangladesh Awami Sechchasebak League (BASL) to pursue politics of ideology with a sacrificing mindset crucial for shining in politics.

“We’re doing politics for ensuring welfare of the people and materialising dream of Bangabandhu and upholding his ideology. So I would like to tell the Sechchasebak League members that those who could do politics with a mindset of sacrifice and serving the people would succeed in achieving due place in politics and leadership,” she said.

The prime minister said this while addressing as the chief guest a discussion and reunion of Bangladesh Awami Sechchasebak League (BASL) at her official Ganabhaban residence here this morning.

“Whatever you got or didn’t get it’s not a big thing, rather what did you serve to the people will have to be a policy and principle of a politician … I hope that you will build yourselves in that ideology and principle,” she added.

In this connection, Sheikh Hasina expressed her gratitude to Almighty Allah that her children were grown up as good human beings. “I was elected prime minister thrice, but they (children) never irritated me for money, asset or business,” she said.

The BASL organized the function on the occasion of its 23rd founding anniversary.

Sechchasebak League President Advocate Mollah Mohammad Abu Kawsar presided over the function, while its General Secretary Pankaj Debnath spoke on the occasion.
