No plan to annul notes of Taka 500, 1000: BB
DHAKA, Sept 26, 2019 (BSS)- Bangladesh Bank (BB), in a clarification, today said that the bank has no plan to annul notes of Taka 500 and 1000 denomination.
“The Bangladesh Bank has not taken any decision to cancel notes of Taka 500 and 1000. The government also did not give any instruction to the BB in this regard,” BB said.
The central bank authorities urged the people not to be misguided by such type of fake news and requested all, including print and electronic media, not to publish such misleading news items.
The BB’s clarification came following some confusing and false news that have been published in newspapers.
