Food Safety Authority to be strengthened: Razzaque
DHAKA, Sept 24, 2019 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque today said Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) will be strengthened to ensure safe and nutritious food for all as per the pledge of the government.
“The Agriculture Ministry will set up an accredited lab while existing labs will be modernized to check the adulterated food,” the minister told a roundtable discussion at the Jatiya Press Club here.
Bangladesher Khabor, a Bangla newspaper, organized the discussion titled ‘Safe Food and Agricultural Management’ with its Editor Azizul Islam Bhuiyan in the chair, said an official handout.
Razzaque said the monitoring should be done in such a way so that adulterated foods cannot be reached to the consumers.
Managing Director of ACI Agrolinks Limited Dr FH Ansarey, BFSA Chairman Syeda Sarwar Jahan, Director General of Department of Agricultural Extension Dr Md Abdul Muyeed and Executive Director of Krishi Gobeshona Foundation Dr Wais Kabir took part in the discussion, among others.
