Aminul begins bowling with bandaged hand

CHATTOGRAM, September 20, 2019 (BSS)-While his participation in the
Bangladesh’s last game of the Tri-nation T20 tournament is uncertain, young
leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob on Friday began bowling despite sustaining
three stitches in his hand.

Aminul sustained the injury during his debut game against Zimbabwe when
he was trying to stop a straight drive of Hamilton Masakadza. He ended the
match with 2-18 in his four overs and showed a glimpse of his talent.

The injury looked certainly ruled him out of their next game against
Afghanistan but the way he was bowling at the center wicket, Bangladesh
appeared to be hopeful about his appearance in the all-important final at the
Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on September 24.

Desperate to find a winning formula, Bangladesh have turned to two
debutants for their last two group-stage matches of the T20 tri-series at
home: Aminul Islam, a young batsman who bowls a bit of leg-spin.

Aminul had his fair share of success on his T20 debut versus Zimbabwe on
Wednesday (September 18) as the teenager picked up a couple of scalps with
his leg-spin, including that of Zimbabwe’s skipper Hamilton Masakadza.

However, it also turned out to be a bitter-sweet day for the youngster as
he suffered a hand injury and looks set to be ruled out of Bangladesh’s next
game against Afghanistan.

But in Bangladesh’s Friday’s practice session Aminul bowled quite a few
overs in the middle despite wearing a bandage on his hand.

The absence of Aminul looked to have forced the team management to see
how Sabbir Rahman fare as leg spinner as he was also seen bowling in tandem.
Taijul Islam who was dropped from Bangladesh’s last game against Zimbabwe was
also seen bowling in the net.
