Police distribute leaflets to drivers to stop road accidents

GAIBANDHA, Sept 20, 2019 (BSS) – District traffic police have been
distributing leaflets to the vehicle drivers of the district for the last few
days for stopping road accidents.

As many people are killed in road accidents every day, drivers should be
aware to avert road accidents, which will save the lives of people.

To reduce and check untoward road accidents, the leaflets inscribed with
20 advices are being distributed to the drivers of the buses, trucks and
motorcycle riders in the district.

Police super Muhammad Towhidul Islam is also distributing the leaflets to
vehicle drivers to create awareness about traffic rules side by side with the
traffic inspectors and sergeants.

Traffic inspector (Admin) Ataur Rahman said a total of 25,000 leaflets
would be distributed to drivers and the motorcycle riders.

Apart from it, some 3000 leaflets received from DIGP Rangpur range office
were also disbursed to the drivers and the motorcyclists of the district last
week, he also said.

Police are also giving flower sticks to the motorcyclists who have helmets
and other necessary documents in their possession, he added.

The police are also holding roadside meetings for creating more awareness
among people about road accidents, said Anwar Hossain additional police
super.

Talking to BSS, police super Muhammad Towhidul Islam said there is no
alternative to following traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
