JHALOKATI, July 26, 2017 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced three persons to death for killing a farmer in Nalchity upazila of the district in 2000.
Additional District and Session Judge Bajlur Rahman pronounced the verdict.
The convicts are Jamal Khan, his brother Khalilur Rahman and Sohrab Hossain, residents of Nangoli area of the upazila.
The prosecution story, in brief, is that the convicted persons slaughtered farmer Munsur Ali to death at his residence over previous enmity on October 22, 2000.
The victim’s son Abdul Majid filed a murder case with the concerned Thana against seven persons.
Police after investigation submitted a chargesheet to the court against them.
The judge after examining 15 witnesses and evidences found them guilty and announced the verdict in presence of them.
The rest accused were acquitted of the case as the allegations against them could not be proved.
