DHAKA, Sept 17, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today congratulated Bangladeshi ace archer Mohammad Ruman Shana for his outstanding success in the Asia Cup World Ranking Archery and assured of extending all possible support for the development of archery in the country.
The prime minister gave the assurance when Ruman Shana called on her at Ganabhaban here this evening.
Ruman Shana brought laurels for the country on Friday as he won gold medal in the men’s recurve singles in the Asia Cup World Ranking Archery Tournament Stage 3 in Clerk City, Philippines.
The prime minister greeted Ruman Shana by entertaining him with sweetmeats.
At the time, State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel said it is possible for Bangladesh to do good results in the next Olympic Games if the prime minister continues to patronise and encourage the archers in this way.
Youth and Sports Secretary Md Akhtar Hossain, Bangladesh Archery Federation President Lt Gen (retd) Moinul Islam and General Secretary Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed Chapal were present on the occasion.
