Bangabandhu mural inaugurated at Rajshahi College

RAJSHAHI, Sept 17, 2019 (BSS) – A mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman constructed newly at Rajshahi College has been opened here today.

Rajshahi College authorities have built the 25 feet height and 22-feet width mural at a cost of around Taka 10.2 lakh at its compound with an attractive look aiming to inspiring students to know about life and works of Bangabandhu.

Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the country’s second largest mural as the chief guest.

Chaired by principal of the college Prof Habibur Rahman the meeting was addressed by some front-raking leaders of Rajshahi city unit of Bangladesh Awami League including Dablu Sarker, Nawsher Ali and Shafiqur Rahman.

Prof Habibur Rahman said brick, sand, rod, stone, marble and tiles were used to build the Bangabandhu’s mural while the stones, marble and tiles were procured from abroad.

Giving a salient feature of the mural Prof Rahman said the attractive out-looking installation will furthermore brighten the image of the college.

Liton said all the people should know about the life and works of Bangabandhu to materialize his dream of building a “Sonar Bangla” (golden Bangladesh).

He said the name of Bangabandhu could not be erased from the people’s mind till Bangladesh exists.

Liton said all the fugitive convicts would be brought back to the country and they would be executed on this soil so that none can dare to commit such types of heinous crimes.

He said all people irrespective of political affiliation must follow the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as he liberated the country for all.
