75 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, May 28, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 75
persons including 28 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 146 bottles of Phensidyl, 220 pieces of
Pethidine injections, 155 liters of locally-made liquor and 320 pieces of
Yaba tablets during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 15 persons including
five drug traders with 146 bottles of Phensidyl, Biral Thana police arrested
five drug traders with 220 pieces of Pethidine injections, Bochaganj Thana
police arrested seven persons, Kaharole Thana police arrested three persons,
Chirirbandar Thana police arrested five persons, Khansama Thana police
arrested three drug traders with 155 liters of locally-made liquor,
Parbatipur Thana police arrested eight drug traders, Birampur Thana police
arrested four persons, Ghoraghat Thana police arrested three persons,
Phulbari Thana police arrested five persons, Birganj Thana police arrested
seven persons including four drug traders, Hakimpur Thana police arrested two
persons and Nawabganj Thana police arrested five persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
three drug traders with 320 pieces of Yaba tablets around 11pm from Hili
Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
