DHAKA, Sept 15, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) newly
appointed acting President Al-Nahean Khan Joy and General Secretary Lekhak
Bhattacharjee today vowed to turn BCL free from controversy.

They came up with the remarks while speaking at a press briefing held at
the Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University (DU).

Al-Nahean Khan Joy said, “If we get evidence of extortion or tender
rigging against any activist of BCL, we will take action against him or her
instantly.”

Lekhak Bhattacharjee said, “The big challenge we are going to face is to
form committees and arrange the next council of the Chhatra League within
next 10 months.”

“We want to keep BCL refrained from any controversial acts so that no one
can raise any negative facts against us,” he added.

Lekhak further said, “We will make BCL united under a single banner. There
will be no culture of a specific leader centric politics.”

On September 15, Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani were
removed from the posts of BCL President and General Secretary.

BCL senior vice-president Al-Nahean Khan Joy and senior joint-secretary
Lekhak Bhattacharjee were given the charges of president and general
secretary respectively.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the AL Central Working Committee
held at Ganabhaban here on Saturday night.
