DHAKA, Sept 13, 2019 (BSS) – Impulse Hospital has brought relief to the expecting mothers by facilitating normal but painless delivery.
This was disclosed at a press conference held on the hospital premises at Tejgaon area in the city on Wednesday, said a press release here today.
At the press conference, three physicians – Senior Consultant of National University Hospital of Singapore Dr Md Toufiq Islam, Senior Consultant of the University Hospital Waterford Dr Jinnurain Jaigirdar and Senior Consultant of Portiuncula University Hospital at Ireland Dr Kazi Nafiza Hamid — made presentations on unique techniques for introducing painless normal delivery services at Impulse Hospital.
Speakers at the press conference said over 80 percent of deliveries in private hospitals in Bangladesh are caesarean, but half of them are unnecessary which the health researchers criticize as unethically motivated leaving higher risks of complicacies to the mothers.
Expecting mothers are often compelled to undergo surgery in panic but despite excessively higher payments, they are put in various long-term troubles following deliveries, they observed.
Additional Secretary of Women’s and Children Affairs Ministry Ainul Kabir spoke at the press conference as chief guest while Managing Director of Impulse Health Services and Research Center Limited Professor Dr Zaheer Al-Amin delivered the welcome speech.
Zaheer Al-Amin said caesarean service can never be an alternative to normal delivery. In the era of modern civilization and health advancement, pain during delivery is also not acceptable. “Considering these, we started painless normal delivery last year in Impulse Hospital and we have already achieved significant success in this matter,” he added.
“Now to increase the success rate and to seal the loopholes in the process, we have called some renowned anesthetists and obstetricians from Europe and Singapore who will be present for full time for the next seven days and give service personally to help our patients,” he said.
