Gaibandha SP for enhancing police, journalists’ relationship for crime free society

GAIBANDHA, Sept 11, 2019 (BSS) Newly joined superintendent of police (SP)
underscored the need for enhancing cordial relationship between police and
media men in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding to establish a
crime free society.

“Police and journalists can play important role to achieve the desired
goal through advancing the country towards desired development, progress and
prosperity and side by side with ensuring human rights”, he said.

SP Muhammad Towhidul Islam made the comments while addressing a view
exchange meeting entitled “Meet the Press” organized by district police
administration at his conference room of the town here on Tuesday afternoon.

The meeting discussed elaborately about stopping gambling, drug trading,
theft and robbery, removing traffic jam and overall law and order situation
in the district side by side with ensuring need base information providing by
the police officials to the media men.

Welcoming the journalists to participate in the meeting SP Muhammad
Towhidul Islam in his speech sought whole hearted cooperation from them to
keep the law and order situation of the district under control and said the
police here would work as the people’s friend.

A good number of journalists from print and electronic media including
district correspondent of the national news agency of the country Sarker M.
Shahiduzzaman and Bangladesh Betar Gobinda Lal Das addressed the meeting.

More than 40 journalists of print and electronic media of the country
working from the district took part in the meeting.

Additional police super Moynul Hoque, additional police super-headquarters
Anwar Hossain, and officer in charge of Sadar thana Khan M. Shahriar, were
present on the occasion.
