Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football Tournament begins in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Sept 9, 2019 (BSS)- Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman National Gold Cup Football Tournament (Boys, under 17) and
Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib National Gold Cup Football Tournament
(Girls, under 17) began here today.
District Administration is hosting the tournament at Muktijuddho Smrity
Stadium in association with the Ministry and Youth and Sports. Four teams
from Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) area while nine teams from the district
are taking part in the tournament to be held from September 9 to 11 and
September 17 to 21.
City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the tournament as the
chief guest this afternoon. Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman,
Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Humayun Kabir, Deputy
Commissioner Hamidul Haque and Superintendent of Police Md Shahidullah were
present on the occasion.
Before that, a colorful rally was brought from the circuit house
premises. After parading some city streets the rally was ended at the
tournament venue.
