Two dock workers die in Ctg port

CHITTAGONG, July 25, 2017 (BSS) – Two dock workers died while unloading wood from a vessel at Chittagong port jetty no-8 in the early hours of today.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Atik Sheikh, 49, and Khorshed Alam alias Sohel, 48, both hailed from Noakhali district.

Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bandar thana, told BSS that Atik and Khorshed fell down from the stair while they were unloading imported wood from the ship which came from Africa at about 2 am and died on the spot.

Police with the help of ship’s crew and other workers recovered the bodies from the deep part of the ship around 7 am, he said.

The bodies were sent to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy, Moinul added
