RAJSHAHI, May 23, 2018 (BSS)- A trader has been fined Taka 20,000 on charge of his involvement in spraying chemical on immature mango in Charghat Upazila in the district yesterday.
On a tip-off, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ashraful Islam conducted a mobile court at Patiakandi Bazar area and found Zibarul Islam, 45, son of Abul Hossain of Barobaria village, spraying harmful chemical on immature mango.
The court arrested him with 60 kilograms of immature mango. Subsequently, the court fined him Taka 20,000 on the basis of circumstantial evidence.
Afterwards, the seized mangoes and chemicals were destroyed before the public in general.
