Sheikh Hasina’s government believes in politics of development: Shahriar

RAJSHAHI, Aug 25, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar
Alam said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led government believes in politics of
development as he inaugurated a canal re-excavation work in Charghat
Upazila’s Kakramari area here yesterday.

“The government’s main goal is to bring every nook and corner of the
country under the development process while it has been working relentlessly
to attain the cherished goal,” he said as the chief guest at the function.

Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) will re-excavate the 2.10-
kilometer canal stretching from Meramatpur to Padma river in Pirojpur area at
a cost of around Taka two crore aims at accumulating rainwater for using the
conserved water for irrigation.

Chaired by BMDA Executive Director Engineer Abdur Rashid, the meeting was
addressed, among others, by Upazila Chairman Fakhrul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi
Officer Nazmul Haque, BMDA Project Director Nazirul Islam and Union Parishad
Chairman Hasanuzzaman Madhu.

Shahriar Alam said the country has attained remarkable success in various
sectors under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He mentioned that Bangladesh at present is progressing fast in every
sector, especially in ICT, food production, education, women empowerment, GDP
and per capita income.

“Bangladesh is now a rice-exporting country,” he also said.

Earlier, the state minister inaugurated a newly constructed multi-storied
building of Muktijoddha Complex built at a cost of around Taka 2.50 crore at
Charghat Upazila Parishad headquarter.
