DMP’s directions to carry huge money during Ramadan

DHAKA, May 19, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a
set of directives including taking its escort facility to carry huge amount
of money to evade being victimised of robbery and mugging during the holy
month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-fitr.

As a part of the precautionary measures, the DMP has also directed to take
money at different parts of the body, pocket, bag and the accompanied persons
with using comparatively big roads instead of lanes and by lanes in carrying
huge amount money and be more careful while got stuck in jam or traffic
signal.

The DMP suggested preferring banks having closed circuit camera
televisions (CCTVs) coverage and day instead of night for transaction of huge
money and not to use of ATM booths in presence of others and be careful about
inputting of secret PIN numbers of the ATM card while withdrawing money using
booths.

It also recommended carrying huge amount of money with more one trusted
persons, and using checkque in case of transaction of money from one bank to
another bank and riding motor vehicles including motorcycle instead of
rickshaws for transaction money.

The DMP like past few years is providing money-escort service to the people
and organizations in carrying big amount of money from one place to another
during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The activities of criminals especially of muggers, robbers and ogyan
party increase during this period. They can snatch the money from the city
dwellers because of their little carelessness. Even a precious life can be
lost because of the money. So the DMP is providing money-escort service to
ensure the safe transport of big amount of money,” said a DMP official today.

In case of taking money-escort, the city dwellers and organizations would
have to arrange vehicles at their own initiatives and the DMP will provide
the escort, he also said.

The DMP has requested to contact with the local police station or Police
Control Room to get the money-escort service.
